This drill is perfect for elite coaching sessions. It focuses on the classic “up-back-through” combination play, demanding sharp 1-touch passing, perfect synchronization, and clinical finishing inside the box. Because the drill is continuous, it keeps your players constantly moving and highly engaged.
π DRILL SETUP & EQUIPMENT:
- 4 Cones
- At least 5 Players
- At least 3 Balls
- 1 Small Goal (or big goal with goalkeeper)
- 2 Dummy Players (mannequins)
π― COACHING POINTS FOR SUCCESS:
- Passing Speed: Keep the ball moving quickly with crisp, firm 1-touch or 2-touch passes.
- Timing the Run: The attacking player must time their run perfectly behind the dummies to avoid being “offside”.
- Open Body Shape: Receive the ball on the back foot to transition immediately into the next pass or shot.
- Continuous Focus: As soon as a player finishes, they must immediately reset and rotate to the next station.
